Our Story
From a small Korean grocery, since 2008
Launched in 2008 as a small Korean grocery by founder Dong Chul Shin, 1004 Gourmet has grown into a leading destination for East Asian products in the UAE — from pantry staples to cultural favorites, sharing the richness of Asian cuisine with the community.

Our Journey
1004 Milestones
Since our establishment in July 2008, 1004 Gourmet has been committed to offering a distinctive experience to those who appreciate Asian cuisine and culture.
Founded on July 5th, 2008, the company operated with a 3,000 SF retail space and a 3,000 SF warehouse.
Diversified by introducing a new sales channel focused on Japanese restaurants and hotels, securing notable clients such as Nobu, Burj Al Arab, Atlantis Hotel, and Burj Khalifa.
Expanded by adding an additional 3,000 SF warehouse and initiated its online presence with the soft launch of my1004mart.com.
Revamped operations by redesigning the shop and launching a fresh produce supply from Korea twice a week.
Enhanced warehouse capabilities by completing the Dubai Investment Park (DIP) facility, expanding from 6,000 SF to 16,000 SF, including a 2,500 SF cold store.
Officially launched my1004mart.com and strengthened quality assurance by initiating the HACCP program.
After completing the HACCP program, began importing fresh products from Tsukiji, Japan, twice a week.
Launched an English website, implemented a full ERP system, and established an FMCG Distribution Division.
Expanded its warehouse to 32,000 SF and began supplying to Carrefour.
Expanded its market by opening an 8,100 SF Asian Market and launched 1004gourmet.com.
Expanded its online presence by joining major UAE e-commerce platforms, including Amazon, Noon, Instashop, Talabat, and Now.
1004 Gourmet expanded its market with a new branch at Dubai's Palm Jumeirah, Nakheel Mall.
Expanded its infrastructure with larger facilities.
Boosted brand presence through food-distribution events and promotions like Ugly Noodles, Gunbae Nights, and 1004 Umami. Opened new stores: an 8,000 SF branch on Abu Dhabi's Reem Island and a location on Dubai's Culture Street in Alserkal Avenue.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries conducted an agency service to promote Miracle products; MOUs linked to outdoor stores in Naju City, Jeju City, and Gyeongsangbuk-do were held.
Jeollanam-do Economic Promotion Agency opened a permanent overseas sales center and promoted aT as a new media marketing agent. Participated in Kalayaan 2024 Dubai, promoting Korean food and beauty products during the Philippines Independence Celebration.
